What you will find here
Useful first
We organise information around what a traveller must decide before and during a trip.
More than checklists
Destinations are places with people, food, history and everyday rhythms.
Clear expectations
We explain trade-offs and uncertainty instead of promising a perfect itinerary.
Our approach
Practical Morocco travel guides, written to help you decide.
Visits Morocco is an independent travel publication. We write about the things that actually decide a trip: what to book, what to pay, where to stay, how to get around, and what to avoid.
We started it because most Morocco travel content is either vague (“taxis are affordable”) or written to sell something. We wanted real numbers, honest trade-offs, and clear dates on every price.
Who is behind it
Rachid, founder and editor
I was born in Casablanca in 1983 and trained as a chef (culinary diploma, 2005). I worked in the culinary field for almost ten years in Morocco and more than six years in Canada, where I have lived for over 14 years.
I know Morocco’s tourism sector well, including the gaps that leave visitors confused, overcharged or disappointed. Visits Morocco is my way of filling those gaps with clear, honest and practical information, and of sharing my country, its food and its culture with travelers around the world.
I last visited Morocco myself in July 2025. To keep our guides current, I also rely on detailed first-hand reports from my wife; her most recent trip was in May 2026, and we stay in daily contact while she is on the ground.
Visits Morocco is run by one person — no editorial collective, no hidden team.
What we cover
- Destination guides and itineraries (starting with Marrakech)
- Transport: airport transfers, trains, taxis, private drivers
- Where to stay, by neighborhood and by type of traveler
- Real costs, tipping, and common scams
- Printable planners and checklists for people who want a ready-made plan
How we work
- Practical first. Every guide answers a decision: where to sleep, how to get from the airport, whether something is worth the money.
- Dated information. Prices, opening hours and transport details are labeled with when they were last checked (see our Editorial Policy).
- Honest trade-offs. We say what a place is good for and who should skip it.
- Corrections welcome. If something changed or is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and note the update.
How Visits Morocco earns money
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We also sell digital planners. Read the full details in our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy.
Free guides vs. paid planners
Everything you need to understand Morocco is free on this site: the destination guides, the practical tips, the checklists.
Our planners (3-day, 5-day and 10-day Marrakech editions) are for people who want to execute: hour-by-hour itineraries, exact transport steps, booking links and backup options — the part that turns “I read the guide” into “I did the trip.” Buy the planner when you want the decisions made for you.
Independence
Visits Morocco is not affiliated with the Moroccan government, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), FIFA, or any official tourism authority.
